As winter winds down, we wanted to dig deep into the depths of our beer fridge for another seasonal review. We couldn’t think of a more apropos way to wave goodbye to winter than with Cisco Brewers ‘Winter Shredder.’ Shredder pours a deep mahogany color with ruby-reddish hues. A frothy, tan-colored head sticks to the glass after each sip. On the nose, notes of chocolate, orange, cinnamon and clove all fight to get noticed by your olfactory. Dark fruits, toasted malt and roast dominate the flavor profile while more subtle flavors of chocolate, nutmeg and caramel dance on your palate. And while a slightly dry, alcohol flavor lingers for a bit, overall Winter Shredder is one fine winter drink. We love how complex this beer is without being overdone. It’s not over-spiced, and the light hop additions also make it incredibly drinkable. Add in the creative and comical label art, and you have yourself a solid go-to winter offering

Pours a darker amber with a sub white finger head that stay indefinitely. Very well carbonated with lots of bubbly goodness coming from the bottom of the glass. Aroma is fairly heavy of spices, cloves and pine. Taste is very spicy that tapers off to a bitter dryness after a few seconds. Finishes off very bitter and dry. Also metallic. Overall a decent brew.

This is like a spiced English Pale Ale or ESB. Aroma was kind of rusty/skunky, which set the mood for the rest of the sample. A clear light-red/amber appearance. Average beer...nothing more.

A dark mahogany-brown colored beer with a two finger foamy textured light beige head rising briefly above. Nice thick ringlet left behind. Strong clove, pine prsence in the nose. Very bitter. Again cloves and pine in the tasting. Medium bodued.
