Rated FlacoAlto's beer in Feb 2011. On tap at CCB pouring up dark mahogany with light colored mocha head. The aroma tossed up notes of dark roasted to burnt malts as well as richer clouds of dark fruity esters, earthiness and then a touch of spicy black licorice. The taste reminded me of something I had brewed way way back in time (but that’s not saying my brew was anywhere near as good as what FlacoAlto has here). I get dark roasted malts, dashes of burnt to charred malts, plums and earthy chocolate mixed with a thin layer of blueberries. By midway it picks up an additional note that seems a bit mineral like.
