    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

Rated in Feb. 2011. Poured up on tap at Mark’s amazing Mr. Beery’s CCB Total Tap Takeover. It has a deep mahogany body with really no head whatsoever. The aroma is a mix of whiskey, vanilla, raisin, roasted malt, nuttiness and mildly spicy sugar coated oak planks. Wow, the aromatics altogether are not what I was expecting. It comes across a bit odd, sort of sweet soured ale and earthy. Hmm. The taste starts with smooth oak, sweet smooth whiskey and vanilla bean ice cream. Those notes are soon joined by punchier, slightly harsher, whiskey and raisins to midway. The booze gets even more noticeable into the finish with some firm nuttiness and roasted malts coming to the surface. I’m not sure what to make of this.
