Rated in Feb. 2011. Poured up on cask at the Cigar City Tasting room with deep amber body and garnet to infra red edges all supporting an off white head. The aroma is roasty to dark roasted malts as well as caramel and cinnamon covered ripe cherries to go along with a slight earthiness too. The taste has a pulse of cherries and dark roasted malts and then moving in the direction of thin layers of molasses and earthiness. It ends with cherry juice notes coming forward and lingering with a mild tartness heading into the after taste. It has a great dry, dark roasty and cherry juice after taste.
