This American wheat ale is light gold in color and has a slight haze from the use of wheat. Criterium Ale is a crisp wheat beer that has a refreshing hop flavor that is contributed by New Zealand and Australian hop varietals. Motueka, Galaxy and Pacifica lend a complex melange of citrus character and mesh beautifully with bitter orange peel to provide a full flavored yet light refreshing beer. Pair this beer with food truck fare and cycling while sitting at the world's longest bar.

Big thanks to both dcschiller and markwise for this one. The 750.mL bottle pours deep gold with dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy hop notes, orange peel aromatic blooms and some sweet clean malts in the background. The taste is similar with crisp fresh notes of spicy hops and citrus hops sweetened nicely by some smooth sweet maltiness. In the background is a mild sensation of sort of herbally grassy earthiness adding additional depth to the experience. Damn tasty easy drinking hot weather beer.

Another seasonal American Wheat. I liked Tropical Heat Wave better, which comes out a month or two earlier. This has a cloudy dark yellow appearance...unfiltered. I got it a little too cold in the freezer, so when I opened tons of foam came out..lost a little, but saved it with two glasses nearby. Flavor better than the average wheat, with some citrus hops added...but mouthfeel could be a little crisper based on other samples from the brewer. More of a novelty/special beer that they brew for an annual bike race and food truck event, but I wouldn't pay this price for this beer in the future.
