On the eye, the beer boasts a deep brown robe with a bright glint. Its extremely fine and smooth foam also possesses a slight shade of cream. On the nose, notes of vanilla, marzipan and wood are equally predominant. On the palate, the woodiness cloaks the bread crust, roasting, rum aromas and empyreumatical notes. This edition boasts an excellent blend of the characters of Chimay Grande Reserve and Rum. A balance between roundness and power that will be appreciated at best between 6 months and 1 year after its bottling.

Bottle thanks to DraftWhisperer85 for sharing this awesomeness: Poured a brown mellow off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts and oak, boozy. Taste is boozy, rum oaky, sweet dark fruit.

From a shared 75cl bottle at RBESG 2017 - Grand Tasting. Pours clear caramel brown with an off-white head. Sweet and fruity with caramel, wooden notes, sugar, Belgian yeast. Rather delicious! [22nd of July 2017]

Bottle shared, dark brown/red brown beer, small head. Aroma is rum, oak, wood, raisins, fruit, caramel, malt, molasses, sweet. Taste is the same, wood, oak, bitter, raisins, rum, alcohol. Nice one

Pours clear orange-amber with a thick buff head. Aroma is not strong, but promises tart fruit and toasted malt. Flavor features roasted malt, tart fruit and caramel tones. Mouthfeel delivers good fizz and body with a fruity finish. Grand!
