04.23.05 Tap at TAP NY. Black with thick brown head. Thick and sticky. This stout is very sweet. Too sweet for me, in fact. It’s pretty big and very sticky but I’m not in love with the lack of balance. Could use a stronger dose of hops or a more bitter roast. Kind of cloying towards the end but still drinkable.

This seemed more like an Imperial Stout to me. The aroma had smoked coffee and chocolate plus espresso and caramel. The coffee and chocolate went quite well together in the taste. The mouthfeel was a bit watery but the alcohol was hidden well. Pretty nice stuff.

Had it at Tap New York this past weekend. Dark in color. Roasty stout. Really good. Smooth flavors. Chocolatety. Great beer.

Dark brown to balck color with a medium thick head. Sweet smokey malt aroma and flavor with chocolate undertones.
