This smooth, creamy stout and a crackling fireplace are the perfect answer to a wintry evening in Wisconsin. The rich coffee flavor compliments the "warm, fuzzy feeling" you get from the abundant alcohol. Seasonal Nov. - April.

Pours a deep brown .. light to medium head .. light lacing .. . notes of coffee, roast, chocolate espresso, and baking chocolate .. . super smooth and way to easy to drink .. i guess that's my guy, i can take him .. . a tame imperial stout in its mouthfeel but certainly not in flavour .. . i thought this was america!! ..america!! .. . abv is very well masked, more like a imperial stout/mild hybrid- and the year or two has done nicely too! . .. . bat dad knows no fear!!! bat dad knows no pain!

With a name like satin solstice, it's got to be good.....and it is. Lots of roasted malt character in this one lending itself to great coffee and chocolate notes in both the aroma and flavour. Very creamy. I would highly recommend this beer.

From heybeerman - a big and bold stout that pours deep, deep brown with a great tan head that lingers. Lacing is excellent. Roasted malt, nuts and chocolate in the nose and on the pallette.

i'm goin a little against the grain here - i was prepared for a light sissy version of an irs, though all the CW darkees i've had so far have been great. i was surprised that the beer looked brown as it poured (but closer to black in the glass) and the feel was a little thin for the style, but just a little. the flavor and aroma were huge, and fitting of an irs. lots going on...licorice, bitter coffee, malted milk chocolate, heavily roasted malts and dark fruit. warming despite the lower abv for the style. not elite like some of their others, but quite good. thanks yet again John. underrated on this site.

12oz bottle (received via trade with heybeerman) -

I can't remember the last time I had an imperial stout this light, not only in mouthfeel, but color as well. The beer pours our a dark brown, not quite black body with a 1/2" thich head, but lots of random large/small bubbles. Aroma starts out with coffee/roasted malts with just a bit of ashyness, but nothing overboard (too much ash makes a stout undrinkable IMO). Flavor brings out some more coffee flavors, light bakers chocolate with some sugar-like flavor. This combo just remindes of a drinking a cold coffee. Body was on the thin side for an imperial stout and lacked the creamy body that should be there. Not a world-class beer, but good enough.

Strong coffee and chocolate nose, deep rich black color. This beer is not as heavy and cloying as other Imp Stouts I've tried, however, that seems to make it more drinkable. Flavor is full of malt and roasted barley.

This has been my favorite of the week. It is very dull dark color. The sip is smooth and the flavor is malty.. dark bitter and chocolaty, coffee, and.. I detect a very slight hint of coconut? Perhaps its just the chocolate. A beautiful Wisconsin winter beer 'tis.

Dark brown beer with a medium tan head. Smell of chocolate, coffee, and malts. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. Very nice and smooth tasting stout.

Courtesy of Phishpond. Pours a pitch black with a thin tan head and nice lacing. Little carbonation. Aromas of rich chocolates, roasted coffee, a touch of toffee and hops. Taste is smooth and creamy with a light coffee and bittersweet chocolate with a touch of sweetness then a bit of hops.

A dark black appearance with a dark beige head. Aroma is chocolate, malted milk balls, and some coffee. The flavor is rather sweet with some milk chocolate, oatmeal, and a hint of coffee. The finish is slightly bitter but mainly sweet.
