Pours dark brown in color into a snifter. Small tan head that settles into a ring on the edge of the glass. Aromas of bourbon, caramel, wood, chocolate and vanilla. Bourbon leads the flavors with caramel, dark chocolate and wood. Mouthfeel is full. Another winner from Central Waters, whose barrel aged beers (my second) have been very rewarding given the chance to aerate and warm a bit. Highly recommended.

Pours a warm sable with a thin tan head. Smoked malt aroma has notes of bourbon-soaked wood and quality coffee. Flavor echoes the aroma and hen some, adding sweet caramel to the mix. Texture is quite firm and quite fizzy. Worth seeking.

what can I say that hasn't already been said here? Well for one I had this as a sample from Ridgeview Liquor on a Saturday and I wish I hadnt already picked out and bought my selection because it was really hard not to go back and buy a whole growler of this. Carmel, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and something warm to the whole rich flavor. And yet no bitter aftertaste. I bet if you put put this in a mug, heated it up in the microwave, added a splash of cream and put marshmallows on top no one would no the wiser, in fact I think people would give up buying packets of swiss miss altogether.

Not much head, but the carbonation was correct. Very smooth drinking with a warm alcohol sensation on the back end. The flavor is heavy with vanilla and the overall experience is pleasant.

Reminiscent of GI bbs but not nearly as refined. Good boozy oak flavor and aroma, mouthfeel is full, a little burning. Appearance is kinda weak, head is fizzy and it looks kinda thin.

Great example of what to expect and enjoy from a bourbon barrel imperial stout. Dark brown body with a filmy head and some spots of lacing. Rich aroma of bran cereal (a personal favorite), vanilla, wood and oats. Flavors delve deeper and produce notes of cocoa, molasses, and toast in addition to what is already listed. Drawn out smoothness with a light carbonation and full body. The bourbon and wood are right in line with this bottle, enough to please but not overpowering. Textbook and great, thanks Louis for another great bottle.

Cherry vanilla slight overtone (probably the barrel), sweet and malty following. Pours a light, delicate head. The dark body looks somewhat black coffee. The vanilla and bourbon are apparent. Smooth texture.

man...another winner from central waters. great mix of sweet vanilla and peppery borbon, a ton of chocolate (especially in the flavor), and roasted notes. huge barrel influence without being hot. Almost as good as the coffee i.s. but just a tiny step behind. great beer and brewer!

Well, overall I did enjoy the beer. Since I recently had Peruvian Morning to compare it too, I would say PM won hands down as a better beer but this was still very nice. Dark chocolate exploded off the nose on this one, along with some nice oak, bourbon and vanilla. The body seemed light for an impy stout and I could actually see thru a portion of the body. Dark brown with a light brown cap. Flavor was dominated by the bourbon, dark chocolate, light vanilla, medium sweetness with a black walnut like bitter finish. 12oz was just the right amount for me.
