The Red Racer Smore Stout is a deliciously nostalgic take on the Milk Stout. This seasonal release offers a lightly sweet creaminess and roasted flavour evoking marshmallows toasted over the winter campfire. With notes of chocolate and a hint of spice, this unique winter creation is unexpected and delicious.

650ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a huge frothy tan head, good retention, has very dark amber appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Slightly excessive carbonation. Aromas of toasted malts, earthy hops, caramel and mild spices. Flavours are mild roasted malts, a bit toasty, sweet, hints of caramel and some earthy notes in the finish. Faint notes of chocolate and even nutmeg. Subtle dry mouthfeel, a bit of bitterness, not too much.

Pours a clear, deep copper colour with a beige head, decent stay and some spotted foam-lacing. Not sure what to expect from a s'more beer, but good luck. Yeasty at first pour. Then, the chocolate malts come out, but the hops are present - and pretty sure grassy notes are not part of a s'more. They should be quite sweet, and this is not. No notes of biscuit malts (which should be the Graham crackers). No sweetness from the lactose (which might be the marshmallows). Seems a little sweeter in the taste with just a touch syrupy on the tongue. Roasted malts lingers with a light dryness. Better than their Imperial Pumpkin Ale - which should of never been barrel-aged. Still, expecting more on this one from this brewery I like.
