Bleddyn ap Cynfyn was ruler of Gwynedd and Powys and probably of Cerdigion and Brycheiniog as well, and undoubtely the most powerful Welsh king. After his death in 1075, his sons were too young to rule, and his dominions passed into the hand of a cousin Trahaern ap Caradog. This delicious pale strong ale has an original gravity of 1075 with a high mash temperature learning a fine full bodied texture. Generous US and New Zealand variety hopping give a very bitter tongue, which is complemented by a crisp sweetness and a delicious citrus and grapefruit aroma.

Darker yellow with white foam head lacing to glass. Aroma is bitter hops and some citrus, taste is same, with bitter prevailing. Citrus bitter aftertaste, a good beer. (Velp 201208)

500 ml bottle, from SuperBest Hjørring. ABV is 5.6%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate but nice aroma of fruity hops, hints of orange marmalade, also notes of caramel and toffee. The flavour is medium sweet, notes of caramel and bitter orange marmalade again, plenty of fruity and piney hops, ending in a solid bitterness which is surprisingly sharp and distinct for a Welsh ale.

Bottled@The 2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks DB!). Slightly hazy deep golden colour, mediumsized creamy/fluffy head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some honey, citrus and mild earthyness. Flavour is nectar, fruits, floral notes as well as some grassy and sweetish malty notes.

500 ml capped bottle. Poured a clear copper-brown coloured ale with a generous one finger slight beige creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is grassy hops with resinous notes, sweety malts, aciditic fruits, grapefruit, citrus. The flavour is caramel malts, dried fruits, nuts, aciditic fruits, grapefruits, citrus, aromatic hops always with resinous notes and a touch of spices, pepper. This medium bodied ale has a long hoppy bitter finish. A superb, well-balanced and flavourful ale from Wales. I like it.
