This beer is a big classic American Style Stout with a lot of northwest influences. It is dark, rich and full bodied and definitely has a bit of a kick. The additions of roasted malt and flaked barley add to the creamy texture and mouthfeel that is the hallmark of a great stout. These grains add complex flavors and aromas to this beer, with notes of coffee and a hint of chocolate adding to the depth and complexity. Of course, the unknown unseen and yet to be discovered dark matter might be what really puts this beer over the top! Alcohol Content: 6.7% OG Gravity: 16 Plato Final Gravity: 4 Plato Bitterness Units: 42 Color: Dark Brown Yeast: English Ale Bittering Hops: Simcoe Finishing Hops: Mt. The beer pours a very dark brown, almost black. Head is thick, creamy, and chocolate brown. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and nuts. Body is full. Mouthfeel is creamy. Taste is bitter with notes of coffee and dark chocolate.
