Definitely a beer for those who like their beers dark and strong. Straight away you get sweet chocolate aromas from this beer, which the high alochol content helps bring out. In the mouth, the beer does have a slightly sickly feel, brought out perhaps by the 6% alcohol. However this is almost unnoticed by a very smooth flavour, which is quite reminiscent of chocolate coated honeycomb (Australian readers, read Crunchie/Violet Crumble Bars!). Slight hints of coffee, and you have the completion of one of my favourite beers. Definitely not an overly sessional beer, but great to have a couple on a winters night.

A decent little stout, maybe a bit thin, nice creamy, roasty, bittereness, but not overly complex, the best beer from an otherwise boring brewery.
