A medium bodied, dark brown ale with a complex chocolatey, toasted malt taste. The word "nut" in the name implies a dry nut-like taste that makes it distinct from some of the sweeter brown ales. We use five different types of malted barley to give the beer its color and variety of malt flavors.

Tried on tap in Durham at a pizza shop. Very drinkable. Solid brien color with a good head. Smooth body. Nice caramel malt flavor. A solid beer. I’ll take another.

Strong, malty aroma has a firm overtone of molasses and hints of brown sugar, caramel and chocolate. It pours a lovely clear cola brown with a typical pale tan head that leaves minimal lacing. Flavor is crisp and malty with a molasses undertone and hints of chocolate and burnt wood. Smooth texture has average body and fizziness, but is still pleasing.
