Cream Ale is an exclusively North American invention. Unlike most beer recipes that originate in Europe, Cream Ale was spawned from a thirst for something above and beyond the typical American lager beer. Generally brewed with an ale yeast and cold conditioned like a lager, Cream Ale usually has a golden color with light to medium body. However, the Cariboo Cream Ale reflects the winters of the far North - more colour, body and flavour to keep you feeling warm, when it is minus twenty out and the wood needs a-choppin’. Tasting Notes Our Cariboo Cream Ale is brewed with an authentic ale yeast that we have specially selected to give our beer a distinct creamy note. The beer is darker than a typical Cream Ale because we use specialty roasted malts that add more flavour. This is a 5.5% beer that can be paired with anything – from complex spicy Thai food to the more delicate textures and flavours of sushi. This unique beer has it’s own standout finish for the more adventurous palate.
