Rich, bold and smooth! Plenty of specialty malt flavors with a slight dryness in the finish makes for a beer with excellent style. Without a doubt the finest dark beer brewed in the United States. Styled after a traditional Munchener-Dunkel, Dark is a rich, delicious beer combined with excellent drinkability - a rare combination.

A rich and bold taste. A very smooth drinking dark beer when compared with others in this category. Might not be as complex in its flavors as some of the other dark beers, but is still an extremely good beer.

Sampled at 10/13/2012 at GABF. This Dunkel pours a medium amber color from the tap. Large to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, bready and sweet. A medium bodied Dunkel. The malts are caramel, bready and sweet. The hops are earthy and spicy. Nice carbonation. Nice balance. A crisp and clean, slightly sweet Dunkel. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. The aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Dark color, simple-scented. I'd say not bad, for the price, recipe seems a little simple. I've never been to big of a fan of this brewery, but I still drink it, cause it's local and respectable.. 'Tis no piss.

This one poured a translucent brown color with a thin off white head. It had a nice sweet malty aorma and a thin mouthfeel. The flavor was suprisingly balanced. I was expecting lots of raosted notes, but instead got an almost Belgian-like flavor profile.

The body is a clear amber brown with a foamy tan head that produces light lacing. The nose is fresh and malty with a smattering of fruit. Mouthfeel is crisp and round. Flavors are fresh and smooth; lightly sweet, rosated malts and very lightly-bitter hops. A nice clean, slightly dry finish. A good, solid, unassuming Wsiconsin version of the Munich Dunkel style.

Poured a dark brown colour with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is pleasent, touch of oak, over ripe fruit- apples and jerky? Dark roasted coffee beans, full creamy mouthfeel, well carbonated and a nice long finish.

"Finest dark beer in North America" yea right. Bit of dark malt and water. Boo on this brew. Nothing like what is represented. Fake, fraud, brewer is a part time broad. .

This seemed more like a Schwarzbier than a dunkel. Aroma of peaches and honey. Very dark brown with red on the edges. A light and slightly sour taste of toast and lemons. Has the typical cheesy after taste that Capitals tend to have.
