Pours a real dark brown colour with little copper highlights. Big beige creamy head that stays a long time and leave good dirty lace. Aromas of dark fruits, roasted malts, molasses and the light rum blending in with the fruits. Roasted malt flavours with a sharp bite from the hops and nice burnt wood that lingers. Hints of coffee over the chocolate. Wow ! This is quite good !!

Just the type of beer I needed after shoveling my car out of the snow. Bold roasty flavours. Dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, vanilla, Hint of rum and oak. Wouldn't think it was 9.2% abv. Other aspects of the beer kind of let it down.Still worth a try.

Pours a large amount of frothy brownish head and has a nice deep black appearance. No light shining through. Gives off pretty good lacing. Rum aromas are almost immediately noticeable as well as some dark roasted malts, nuts and coffee. Alcohol is quite prominent in flavour. Huge chocolate and roasted malts flavours that leaves a nice impression. Has notes of coffee and caramel. Also resin hops. Warming sensation and slight bitterness. More of a slick, oily mouthfeel. Really good beer here.

The beer pours a solid dark black with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is vanilla, roasted malt, and coffee. Mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy with average carbonation. The flavour is bitter coffee, some chocolate sweetness, yet there is a subtle rum note that is almost lost, but can be detected.

Good looking ale - dark black - a bit of ruby highlight ...murky.... unfiltered...needs a hard pour to put a head on it. Two finger creamy mocha colored cap. Aroma is typical of a big porter - Dark fruit, roast, succulent fruits, cocoa and some coffee. Flavour is more well balanced than I expected - lots of roasty astringence and hop bittering to balance off the big malts - some vanilla, some light smoke, dried figs not overly complex but pleasant. Long rich bittering finish...clean, roasty. A pretty good big dark ale, Not much porter character,, more like an Imperial stout - good tasting, but the barreling flavors are lost in the big beer. Very good anyway, but too expensive, like most of Camreron’s recent one offs.
