Pours a deep copper/brown with a medium off white head that fades to a small cap. Aroma of toffee, and roasted malt. Nice toffee flavour with a sweet prescence in the mouth. Smooth and low carbonated but too thin of a mouthfeel. Overall good flavour and a decent beer.

I've been told that this is among the top 10 Scottish beers in the world. I'm not sure how that can be as I find it to be pretty average and run of the mill. The beer is a clear copper beer with a white head that lasts. The aroma is caramel malt, and some hops. The flavour is smooth, malty, and humdrum.

The beer pours a very nice translucent red into the glass with a small white head. The aroma is a combination malt, hops, and nuts. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, mild carbonation, and creamy. The flavour is malt, nuts, and a slight hint of hops detectable by a slight bitterness. -

Rubyish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, some caramel and slightly salted notes. Flavour is slight roast, some fruits and a bit of grass. Very dry palate. Still a pleasant beer in most ways.

A really nice scottish ale that is neither too strong and bitter or too light. Has a taste of oak and honey on the intial attack with a little bit of carbination and nice lingering aftertaste of caramel. Very nice Brew.Recommended

Can: Poured a deep amber color ale with a foamy slightly off-white head with good retention. Aroma of sweet malt is really enjoyable. Good caramel malt presence is also easily noticeable and very enjoyable. Subtle bitter hops closing are also nice. Tasted more like a Scottish ale but then I’m no expert with the English style of beer.

No fancy nitro widgit in this can...the pour gave me a tawny-copper colored clear ale with a nice frothy 1 finger cap that lasted well and laced the glass ( the result of wheat protiens). Modest carbonation. More like a cask version of this standard Scottish ale than the nitro engine steroid version. Aroma: Toasty grainy, caramel sweetness with a nice herbal medicinal hop twang. Body: Medium and very silky smooth Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth Taste profile: The malts show up early where a nice chewy dose of toasty amber, golden, black and crystal malts meet the palate....the hop mixture of fuggles and a couple of golding varieties give a nice "grassy" decernment that rides along slightly in the back of the malt mixture...the finish goes dry with ( I'm sure) some detectable unmalted wheat and the whitbread goldings providing a medicinal bittering. Not a harsh but mellow type of dry finish...wonderful! There are few ales I find this extremely drinkable. A very well put together ale just made for sessions.

Nice malt aroma, this had great head and retention. Deep copper colour, very appealing to the eye. The mouthfeel on this thing is amazing - creamy, thick, mouth-encompassing yum. Good flavour, malty and a nice tasty bitterness to the finish. Very easy to drink, this is my new standard pub brew.

I really enjojed that scotish ale.Poured copper, huge head good retention and lacing all over...Delicate malty aroma, the mouthfeel is very satisfying with light carbonation leaving all the place to the malt and the hops. This beer is great with a scotch broth soup...

Pours a nice deep golden-copper with a creamy off-white head. Retention is medium and lacing is pretty decent, sticking like seaweeds. Aromas are from malt, more on the roasted and fruity side then on the sweet side, and with slight notes of smoke. Lightly bodied. Taste starts on with some fruits, then some hoppy bitterness enters to then end on a nutty finish. Smoke is in the aftertaste. Quite a nice ride of flavours, and easy to drink.
