Did you know that IPA stands for Indian Pale Ale, and that it was originally brewed for sale in India, becoming popular in the UK following a shipwreck in the Irish Sea in 1827, when barrels of IPA were auctioned off in Liverpool? IPA is one of Cains’ best selling cask ales: a refreshing session beer, with a subtle hop aroma and a light, yet full flavour.

canned, labeled Cains IPA; from the Fête de la Bière 2005, Lausanne - it has a clear amber colour with a very little foam, floral aroma with light notes of caramel, medium-bodied at best with a harsh bitterness, very dry and short floral aftertaste - gentle and simple
