Nice dark brown brown with a distinct reddness with a touch of haziness. This isn't as carbonated as the Roggenbier and the Hell, but it's still lively and the head forms easily, but fades quickly. The flavor is a bit bready or cakey and the middle reminds me a little of wood. Lightly sweet, but sweet isn't the first impression. Even though the flavor doesn't really wow me, I keep reaching back for more. This is a good dunkel and that's all there is to it. The mouthfeel is lively with a good sting of carbonation on the tongue.

A chocolate brown pour with some bits of red in there. It is topped with a good sized, but dying off-white head. Sweet malts and caramel hit the nose first, and from there it is all German hops. I believe this is supposed to be a Christmas beer. I went to the website but it was all in German. The best seasonal beer I think I have ever had.
