Dark colored but still somewhat clear brune with colored foam head. Caramel aroma, but not too sweet, taste some old fruit. Nice beer, but nothing too special. (Velp 201204)

Had this on tap at De Halve Maan in Bruges. Pours a dark, unfiltered reddish brown with a finger sized off white head. Nose is very bready, cinnamon, and lots of caramel right away. Taste is equally as sweet. Not off balance, but overwhelmingly biscuity with just a hint of hops in the finish.

Nearly overwhelming alcohol to the nose with some light dried fruit. Drawn murky brown with a thin head. Maly and toffee dominate the flavor, but without depth or complexity that I have come to expect. Thin in the mouth - unexpected.

This is one that I really looked forward too, to give it a try. Too bad, it wasn't what I expected it to be. Aroma was yeasty and alcoholic, returns in the taste. But the taste also had some spicey side taste with hints of clove and plums. This beer is certainly not bad at all, but just not quite what I expected from De Halve Maan.

An Abbey Dubbel that I truly enjoy. It never failed to satisfy me.
Aroma: The aroma was yeasty with hints of toffee and malt
Appearance: The beer pours a brownish colour with a long lasting tan coloured head
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is thick, creamy, with ample carbonation.
Flavour: The flavour is a combination of malt, yeast, and dark fruits.
Overall: A very good example of an Abbey Dubbel.

Pours a very murky dark brown almost opaque colour and has a huge creamy beige head. Aroma is alcohol, acidic fruits and some toffee. Flavour is toffee, malts and alcohol. Slight metallicness in the finish. Quite thin and watery palate. The alcohol in aroma and flavour pretty much ruins it.
