Sampled draught in the tasting room of the Bristol Brewing Company, on a lazy Thursday afternoon.
Had some time to kill before my flight homeward bound, and this place was heavily recommended, so stopped in for a taste or three. Seeing as how this Limited Edition Double IPA was my very first taste of the Bristol Brewing Company's wares, have to say that it was both a very bold, and very enjoyable first meeting.... :)
What first stood out in my mind wasn't the hops in the bad boy (though it is indeed a beer that isn't shy about the hops!) was the sheer easy drinkability. In no way did I find the alcohol in this beer. 10.3%ABV? Um, where? In other words, this could be a scary beer in this regard.... and that's not a bad thing! ;^)
Very appealing Double IPA, from an outfit that, until a week or two ago, I had never heard of. Classy and well-thought out, indeed.
