Deep mahogany in color, Ebenezer is a smooth ale with a complex palate derived from four different roasted malts and a blend of local and imported hops. The malty, full body is balanced with a light hop aroma, leading to a caramel finish. It’s a festive elixir that can transform the mood of any scrooge!

man, i;d had this a couple times in years past and liked the malty, subtley spiced goodness...this year's was overwhelmingly boring. no aroma, little body, little taste. what the hell is going on here? older versions at least a 3.5. currently a 2.5 at best.

It's because of those bison fingers. - . I do not have bison fingers! .. .
bought in a BYO sixer at the shitty Royal Liquors in Kansas City, and the glue sniffer cashier gave me a 50% discount, well, not on purpose, he was to stoned to notice that i had six clearly different bottles in one of there offered holders..
oh well, when over 85% of your beer stock is dusty and/or has black sediment in it, you deserved it buttheads.. .. .
..Pours a dark tawny brown, decent low head, some lacing .. . some light maple, very light brandy, a touch of heavy grandma cookie, light raisin, and a bit of brandy soaked 50 year old wood .. . not much of a disguise .. . fairly simple, the 6.4 seems to work quite well .. .
snortski .. . .. . not exactly thin, but an ok mouth .. . for being at least 8 months, maybe even double its pretty good.. . not a xmas beer or even a mild winter warmer, you know, if this was there fall beer- it might work a bit better, but that being said, a pretty nice little brewski but it lacks any depth .. .
. .
. . So all I gotta do is, I'll ask them some big shot, like math or science, history-type college question and that will totally stump them by knowing a lot more about the answer than they do.
.-...In that movie, Matt Damon played a genius janitor, you're just a janitor.
.-...Right, you stumped me with that one. -

I swear this was a bad batch. It looked nice with great lacing and a deep red color, but the flavor seemed wrong like it was infected. Buttery but with the intended spices behind it. Also had a bourbon aged version which was better.

Aroma is strong, mainly spicy cinnimon and nutmeg. It pours a dark, somewhat hazy, warm mahogany with a fairly thick off-white head. Spicy, malty flavor has a decided hoppy undertone Much like an IPA. Mouthfeel is fizzy, yet smooth and slick. Its a nice winterbrew, but not the best. Worth having around for that change of pace.

Aroma is quite strong, mainly spicy and slightly sweet, and has an evergreen component making it smell somewhat like a good IPA. It pours a dark, somewhat hazy, warm mahogany with a fairly thick off-white head. Spicy, malty flavor has a decided hoppy undertone and is a little sweet and a little bitter. Texture is fizzy and zingy, yet smooth and slick. Happy whatever-you-celebrate-this-time-of-year!

Dark murky pour with decent head and lacing. Aroma is dirt with berry like fruit squeezed in. The mouthfeel is of high carbonation which is noticeable before any flavors. The flavors are predominantly dried dark fruits with some earthy dirt tones and a very faint fruitiness. All of this is very mild, in an English sort of way. I thought this was well done without going overboard on spices or fruit. Thanks to MUSHROOMCLOUD from BA for the trade!

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear mahogany with a thin white head. Sweet molasses aroma. Seemingly bitter up front but finishes on the sweet side. Lots of caramel and a little tart, dark fruit. Full bodied but still drinkable. Good beer, but not that memorable.

Pours dark brown with good clarity and a short, airy head. Molasses and spice are the dominant notes I pick out of the aroma. There is ample hops bitterness to balance the earthy malt base, but overall the flavor lacks the complexity I expect from a specialty brew like this one. Medium bodied with strong carbonation and warming affect.

A brown appearance with some red hues present. Some dark fruit and caramel showing through in the aroma. A chocolate, raisin, and caramel flavor to this one. The palate is a little thin and overall it was not very complex. Bah Humbug!
