A Doppelbock aged on cedar, it will be released along with Bob’s ‘47 Oktoberfest near the end of August. Medium amber in color, Seeyoulator offers a heady, estery banana aroma. A luscious maltiness predominates, with balancing notes from Hallertau hops. Cedar aging lends just a hint of spice to the finish.

It pours a very dark and hazy copper with a thin tan head and some lacing. A bready aroma of caramel malts, hops, light coffee, raisins, oranges, dark rum, some nuttiness, and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, fairly thick, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, oranges, raisins, bitterness, dark rum, nuttiness, breads, and spiciness. Very good!

I am not a big fan of doppelbock, (except for Ayinger) but this really wasnt a doppel so... Aroma was mostly cedar, not really any other noticeable scents. A nice amber body but the head is thin with no lace. Flavor of cedar, with some malts showing, a slight bitter finish, with a slight alcohol finish. Not bad but not up to the Smokestack series standard.

Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with little head nor lacing. Nice caramel malty aroma with a slight fruitiness and alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet with caramels and sweet light toasted malts with a slight butter flavor and alcohol. Actually I was expecting more from this beer - still nice but disappointing.

750ml bottle. Pours a murky tea-like amber with a pillowy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet woody malts (I actually smell some cedar) with some floral notes.
The flavor is very sweet caramel malts and molasses, wood notes with some noticeable plasticky alcohol in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with sharp carbonation.
Overall, too unbalanced on the sweet side for me. The cedar is interesting, but I get some other unique notes in the flavor that I can't quite identify, but am not digging. -

Sampled from bottle. Pours copper-amber with a faint haze and creamy head. Complex bready, sweet malt aroma. Light wood notes too. Balanced with a spice mellowing the bold toasted malt flavors. Full bdie and smooth. Excellent.

Sampled on 12/4/2009. This dopplebock pours a medium orange gold color from 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied dopplebock. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are herbal. A nice sweet dopplebock. Good balance. Nice carbonation. A touch yeasty. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
