Sampled GABF 2008
This beer has a frothy, light tan colored head and the color is mostly clear with a gold color. The aroma smells of thin, washed out grain and a wan hop note. The aroma is grainy, with some faint herbal notes, some corn-leaning DMS as well as a fruity, pale berry note with a touch of green apple. The beer is quite light bodied and it has a bad grainy, almost corn-like finish to it. The hop character contributes a light herbal note as well as a touch of bitterness to the finish. The hops actual seem a bit green and astringent in the finish, despite being fairly muted. This beer leaves me wondering what the stone reference is to? One would expect a more pronounced caramelized grain character if it was actually heated rocks were added to this brew. I was definitely hoping for more character than this.

This must be the lightest blonde ale I've ever had. I really expected more. I wasn't entirely disppointed. It was good. It was fresh - just not as good as I had been led to believe.

Tasted on tap at Nashville Brewpub. This ale pours a light gold color. Small head. Aroma is fruity and malty. A light to medium bodied ale. Malts are caramel, fruity and sweet, but a little on the mild side. Hops are slightly bitter and slightly spicy. Mild lager style ale, brewed for the BMC crowd? Still it’s very drinkable. Nice balance. Smooth taste. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Dark yellow brown. Kind of like a caramel water or something. Ok head. Slightly sweet aroma. Nice light malt flavor. The flavor is a dry malt, almost pilsner like. I like the flavor that the hot stones add (I'm assuming it's from the caramelization the hot stones add since the flavor I'm referring to is similar to Atlanta Brewing Company's Kelly's Stone Irish Light which using the same brewing method.) It's kind of a pencil wood or another light-colored softwood. Makes for a nice little twist to an what would otherwise just be another light ale.

Cool concept, good beer. Pours light copper with good head and lacing. The burnt caramel aroma was pleasant. It's light and smooth with adequate carbonation. Tasty caramel flavor.

Sampled on draft at the Nasville brewpub. Pours a clear dark gold with a generous white head and incredible lacing. Aroma is grassy, mild and sour. Flavor is sweet with caramelized malts and fresh fruit. Smooth, creamy, medium-bodied and moderately carbonated. Had a bit of cider sourness in the flavor that detracted from an otherwise enjoyable beer experience.

Golden appearance. Im not sure what brewing over stone really accomplishes as I couldn't detect anything. Flavor is sweet with caramel and mild hops. I certainly enjoyed thier IPA more but this was pretty good.
