Boréale Cuivrée is a strong beer with a shimmer of coral in its colour and hints of caramel in its bouquet. A smooth, richly flavoured attack with fruit notes gives way to riffs of bitterness and heat as a wilder side kicks up its heels.

Pours a pretty thin layer of head and quickly goes away. Has a pale amber appearance. Ok lacing. Aromas of light malts and a bit of hops and honey. Flavours of malts and a bit yeasty. Notes of nutmeg. Somewhat strong honey like taste. Sweetness on the palate. Medium retention and average carbonation. Sort of bitter aftertaste. Not too bad, but least favourite from Boreale.

As with other Boréale brews, it pours a small head and minimal lace. The colour is a rich amber and the carbonation is light. Rust is felt in the nose with a mild touch of roasted malt. The alcohol is felt at first, then goes through a nut flavour to end smoothly , but with a hint of bitterness. Some metallic notes are also tasted. Again, not a bad beer, but nothing exceptional. The slight metal found in Boréale beers turn me off sometimes.

Bottle: Deep amber brew with a medium size head with more or less retention time. Alcohol is not subtle on the nose or on the tongue. The body is medium and this brew would have been better if the body had been stronger to support the higher alcohol taste. Another one in the so-so colum for Boréale.
