Pours a good size frothy beige head and has a dark amber appearance. Lacing is pretty decent. Aromas of grapes and raisins, toasty malts. Flavours of dried fruits, plums and raisins, a bit yeasty with notes of toffee and nutty malts. Also a bit sweet. Medium-full bodied mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. A bit of a tingling and warming sensation. Not too bad, a good cheap alternative to a winter brew.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a nice foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of dry fruits with some notes of sweet toffee/caramel malt is very enticing. Taste is a nice mix between some dry fruits with note of toffee and caramel. Medium full body with a somewhat creamy texture and some average carbonation. Well done and something I am likely to buy again.

Bought a 12-pack of Boréale to get this one as a freebie. Later, at a different store, I noticed that you can buy this one as a 4-pack. Come in a single box, and says limited edition. Pours a deep brown-red with a big beige creamy-fluffy head with quite good retention. The lacing left is pretty solid too. Nice red ale malt scent with some decent hop aromas, and some notes of nuts and caramel (toffee). Medium-bodied with a little stick, a little syrupy but not much more. Sweet flavours, but not too strong. Mild plum, roasted malt, caramel, grain and a beautiful soft hoppy finish. Nothing too crazy here, as all Boréale beers, but always right for a comforting night or session.

Les Brasseurs du Nord surprised us with this new offering, warming us before the holidays season...Reddish brown not much head, alcohol and dried fruits aroma, also present on the palate,a bit vinous, very malty and lightly hopped (Oiz would like it...Laugh!,a beer to sip as a nightcap or after north skiing...
