Strong and smoky on the palate, dark as night in colour our Nox Aeterna (Latin for “Eternal Night”) Smoked Oatmeal Stout is brewed seasonally using flaked oats and locally roasted coffee. Reminiscent of a campfire, smoked malts combined with flavours of chocolate and espresso add a strong and distinctive flavour to this deliciously complex brew.

The beer poured a solid black colour with a thin tan creamy head that lasts a few minutes/ The aroma is roasted malt, milk chocolate, nuts and bitter coffee. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is milk chocolate, nuts, and coffee. Not sure of it was the peppery stout I had before this, but there isn’t a lot of oatmeal character in this beer.
