Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double boch beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10deg and 12deg C

I was in an Italian deli and looked into the fridge for something to drink. They had the normal Moretti, and this dark brown brew, called a doppio malto. Well, I figured, hoped that ment dopple bock. Close enough!! This seemed more akin to a barley wine than a true bock, but had that great maltiness, and alocoholly taste that I would expect from something in the 8% range.

Copper color with tan head. Sweet malt aroma with a hint of metal. Thick rich sweet caramel malt flavor with a healthy dose of almond nuttiness. The beer ends a bit sweet for my taste.

Hey, who’s that guy drinken my dark beer on the front? Just a little more bitter initially than I expected but.....Did you ever smell fresh crisp italian bread when you crack it open? Well, that’s how my beer smelled when I cracked the lid. When I tasted it, I saw waves of green white and red, all mixing together. Then. in the background I thought I heard some one asking ’kah-peesh’? Just a little aftertaste bitter. I was hoping to end my search for an exclusive beer before 100, but no, I’m gonna keep looken. Though a good beer, Schells carmel back is much better for this style.

pours a dark brown color with little head, aroma are intense caramel malts not hiding the booze; taste is mostly caramel malts, with low-medium bitterness, silk and mild dryness with bitter aftertaste that lingers a bit.

Italian dopplebocks are quite rare, and this one isn’t that bad. A reddish brown pour with beige coloured head. The aroma is very malty with notes of sweet dark fruit, some rasted malt, nuts, and caramel. The beer has a malty sweetness to it that isn’t overpowering, yet at the same time has a dry nuttiness to it as well.

Massive foamy head and and very strong malt aroma.very dark red in color. This was my second beer and the first was very bitter. So I didn't get any bitterness from this beer. It does have very light hint of sweetness. And the flavor is of rich solid malt.
