Christmas Pack of Boucanier beers
The beer poured a translucent brown colour with a loose bubbly brown head that lingers. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour has a nice bitter finish preceded by some caramel tones and yeast, with a sourness.

A rust coloured beer that is still dominated by the alcohol. There is almost no head. The aroma is dominated by yeast and caramel scents with cereal malts and alcohol in the mix. The flavour has a sweet tang to it with noticeable alcohol presence and yeast and caramel flavours as well

Slightly hazy brownish red pour. Good head retention but not much lacing. Aroma is fruity with a hint of spice. Flavours of breaded malts, dark fruits, yeast, with a touch of spice. A little thinner than you would expect considering the rich flavour. Worth a try

The best beer from the Buccaneer Christmas gift pack. A brownish-red pour, somewhat clear, and a tan head. Sweet malt, and dark fruit make up the aroma. Flavour is somewhat yeasty, sweet, and slightly rich. I could try it again some time.

A brown apperance with a large head. The aroma is chocolate, mint, and raisins. The flavor contains chocolate, caramel, raisins, and a hint of peppermint. A very carbonated mouthfeel on this one. Overall pretty good.

Dark rubyish brown colour with huge beige creamy head. Aroma is dry dark fruit, some sourness and some slight yeast and alcohol. Flavour is raisins, metal, caramel and some bittering hops. Flavour hides the alcohol well. Not very exciting, I liked the blonde (golden) one way better.

Pours a hazy dark chocolate, with a tan frothy, rocky head. Nice lacework. Aromas of honeycomb, caramel, toffee. Slightly musty, no hops evident. Tastes as it smells, plus some chocolate sweetness. Maybe some cinnamon, musk spice, molasses. A leafy herbacious aftertaste. Toasty, lolly shop, copmlex. Full rich body, warming & sweet. Wouldn't drink too many...

This Belgian Strong Ale pours a cloudy medium brown color from a ceramic 33cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, banana and sweet. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, lots of banana and esters. Brown sugar, raisins, plums and molasses flavors. Bright yeasts. Lively carbonation. Nice beer, quite shippable. Perhaps a touch sweet, but a very nice smooth tasting beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a slight touch of bitterness at the end.

Very dark - little light gets through this brew. The head is a nice tan colour and a good amount of it too. Laces the glass nicely - always an important feature in my books.
Aroma of malt, Belgian yeasts, nuts and dark fruits. Lots of licorish in the taste and lots of malts too. Semi sweet. Alcohol is present here in heavy loads, a characteristic of these Boucanier brews.
I found it hit or miss as I drank it - on one sip I wouldn't care for it, then the next it was enjoyable. I guess that means it evens out to be average.
