Juan Almonte Jalapeno Pale Ale, made with a good number of fresh jalapenos, is unique, refreshing and subtly spicy. The distinguishable aromas of jalapeno and spice are complemented by the spicy and roasted taste of earthy jalapeno on the palate. A very subtle heat is balanced by a good malt backing allowing the flavour of jalapeno to linger. Similar, although not nearly as admirable as its namesake, the Mexican General (and the town Almonte), Juan Almonte is unique, bold and courageous.

Pours a hazy amber colour with a small off-white head that disappears quickly leaving a little lacing. Light jalapeno peppery aromas over some fruity amber malts. The taste has the pepper notes even lighter at first, and the hot aspect of the vegetable does not linger on the tongue. Just some soft cereal malts. For those who like jalapeno beers without the heat.
