Much like the name, this beer is plagued with an ominous past, and we brewed it 3 times before it finally made its way to the public. Dark, hoppy, and with a mind of its own, Gotham has put us through the ringer. Complex, bold aromatics of citrus rind and dark berries, lingering bitterness of orange pith, pine resin and dark cocoa. Malts: Vienna, Marris Otter, Carafa Special III, Caramunich III, Carafoam. Hops: Amarillo, Citra Yeast: American Ale

Picked up a bottle at the brewery. Pours a huge frothy beige head and has a dark amber/brownish appearance with ruby highlights. Thick lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and earthy and herbal hops. Flavours are fairly hoppy, some spices and more earthy hops. Also pretty sweet. A good balance of bitterness and sweetness to be sure. Average carbonation. 8% abv but not too noticeable.
