Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first & foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt & balance. The fireworks start with the floral aromatic punch of two separate dry-hop sessions with Amarillo and NZ Pacific Jade. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.

12 oz bottle dated 7/26/16. Pours hazy dark golden orange with a big rocky white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet caramel malt and fruit with piney hops and some fusel alcohol.
The flavor is sweet caramel and toffee malt with some fruit that quickly gives way to a big harsh piney resiny hop bitterness with some noticeable alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, I was hoping for Hopslam but too much harsh alcohol and bitterness. -

Opaque gold yellow, white lasting lacing foam head. Hoppy aroma and bitter taste. Would have got higher rating if not there is some soap notes present, strange. Lasting aftertaste. (Chicago 201510)

Pours a beautiful clear golden with a fairly thick buff head hat leaves generous lacing. Decidedly hoppy aroma has a fruity underpinning, mainly citrus but with a good note of pear. Flavor is boldly hoppy, yet only a little bitter, with fruity, hay and even subtle floral notes for backup. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a hoppy and citrus finish. An oracle of great beer.

Great looking DIPA, good hints of orange and amber and super clear. The head is frothy and it's been around for a good 10 minutes so far. Aroma is a rich malt with a good kick of hops at the end. Flavor is remeniscent of Hopslam but with more pine. Super sweet sticky resin to start with and a nice dry finish. I love the beer but I'll take Hopslam given the choice.

Solid dIPA but I can't find much info on it anywhere. Dark amber in color with a small head. Aroma is citrus, hops, piney. Taste is the same. Strong hoppy flavor, dash of citrus in there. Excellent, just like most Bells brews.

This was a great double IPA , there is not much on this one. Must be a specialty batch bells made. I can't find info on there site either, never saw it at there brewery store. Nice light yellow color, good aroma, Gosh i love the bitter bite, and the flavor is good but i don't know for sure what im tasting. that was the only ding i gave it. Nice foam top, and dang the aromatics are jumping up at me from the glass now. Oh buddy, if you get a chance grab this one. I picked mine up at a cigar shop on westmain.
