Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 9.2%. Dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of molasses and oak. The flavour is better than batch 6000, less sweet (but still sweet enough) with a more distinct hop profile, notes of oak and tobacco.

Pretty big, dark brew with a little age on it. Sweet and bitter and alcoholic. Not as awesome as I expected, but still pretty dang good. Herbal, roasty, chocolatey and boozy sweetness all at the same time. Not sure when this came out. Ours was maybe two years old, maybe less. Would have loved to try fresh as this sample was quite nice.

Quite a nice brew, guessed the style after one sip .. . Pours a deep brown purple, light foam .. . burnt sugar, light roast, and singed hops .. . pretty good, but give a few years .. . If I can take a bullet for my grandson, I'll do it. But not in the face... that's how I make my livin's.

Good....but not worth the price IMO. Only got a single to sample and will probably leave it at that. Bell's brews some good beer, but finding some of them to be a bit over-rated. Grabbed this about 6 months ago and forgot to review, so going mostly on memory. Seemed a little similar but lighter than their Third Coast Ale, which I may have found a little better.

From kinger's recent mixed box of AWESOMENESS! Thanks Cory! 2010 batch 10000. Deep brown pour, a little murky, with a short tight creamy head and spotty lacing. Rich aromas of ripe sweet fruits, cocoa, slightly burnt toast, earthy hops. Rich almost creamy mouthfeel. Tastes of ripe figs and dates, semi-sweet cocoa, dark toasted rye bread, nice maltiness, slight molasses and more of those pleasant earthy hops. Big and rich and creamy and warming... Very nice hodgepodge of a beer. Thanks again Mr. King for this goodness.

Picked this up mostly because of the novelty of putting 100 different ingredients in a beer. Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is all over the place--biscuity malt, caramel, grassy hops, roasted notes, coffee. Biggest downside is that the alcohol gets a bit too strong as the beer warms. Overall, interesting but not great. 2/26/12 - Opened one of the 2 remaining bottles I have. Flavors seemed to fuse a little better with an extra year of age. Still plenty of alcohol present but now the smoked malt shines through more.

Halfway through the sixer I bought many moons ago. Interesting and a bit clumsy fresh, tonight's bottle from the cellar proves to me that this beer has finally grown into it's shoes. Plenty of rich malts hinting to aspects of: light roast, biscuits, chocolate, rye, smoke, bread and crackers. Vibrant feel with a perky hop kick and smooth finish. Fresh hop flavors really pull through in the taste. Getting better with some age, but I don't anticipate keeping the remaining bottles around for any extended period of time.

Pours effervescent brown with a low tan head. Lots o lacing. Mouthfeel solid but leaning towards thin. Heavy on the hops for such a malty brew. Interesting enough.

On tap at old Chicago in Okemos, Michigan. About as dark brown as possible without being black. Aroma is heavy on the malt and so is the flavor, but bitterness in the finish even it out. A bit of research on this tells me it was brewed with a ridiculous number of malty and hops... that comes through in the flavor.... so much going on my palate can't sort it out... end result is good though.

A nice lighter brown ale w/a thin foam top.Alcohol aroma detected,a little burnt flavor ,with lots of high crystal flavors also.Nice warming sensation at the end.Overall not too bad, i would recommend a try.Although im glad i did not pick up the sixer($18).
