We reckon this is the equivalent of the tall dark handsome stranger, but with its blend of triple malts, roasted chocolate flavour and hop character, once you've tried this deluxe stout you'll want to get reacquainted.

Pours a fairly huge frothy tan head that dissipates to a thin coating. Has a dark brown appearance. Lacing is pretty decent, patchy. Aromas of roasted malts, hints of coffee and oats. Flavours are a little bit on the sweet side, notes of vanilla, oats, barley malts, hints of chocolate, coffee. Slick and oily mouthfeel. Good retention. Medium carbonation. Not bad. The better of the mix 6 pk so far (4 done).

Excellent flavour, although not a traditional stout one. Nice background peat flavor compliments the sweet and roasted malts, fruits and hints of dark chocolate. Looks.... Two thumbs up from me. Smooth and creamy, Would go well with a cigar. Wish I had more.

A vdecent stout from one of Scotland's better brewers. A pepsi coloured stout with light edges. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the aroma with hints of butterscotch and molasses. Flavour is roasted malt with plenty of background chocolate and coffee.

Clear black with small light brown bubbly foam head. Aroma is caramelized sugar and coffee. Taste is somewhat weak, watery, coffee. Dissapointing a bit. Aftertast is coffee. (Moscow 201304)

Pours a dark brown/black with a massive 3 finger head. Mostly non-transparent since you can see a bit of light in the bottom of the smifter. Aroma is of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is somewhat woody with hints of dark malts and chocolate. Aftertaste is almost like if you were sucking a penny but goes away very fast. Overall a easily drinkable stout.

A decent stout, dead on for the style, but a little boring and a touch of sourness that I didn't like. Not sure why belhaven would make a stout, is it just a marketing gimmick? Not bad on price and easy to find but I probably still wont pick it up again.

i'm going to go against the grain a bit, at least on this site, and score the feel a touch higher than the rest. for a regular stout (not a big cewy imperial) i thought the mouthfeel was superb. creamy and smooth, and just enough abv to notice without any heat. reminded me of a samuel smiths oatmeal/imperial hybrid in it's roasty chocolate goodness, both in flavor and aroma, and in the body. a touch of smoke on the back end of the flavor. i'll deifinitely revisit.

Aroma is smoky, like a good stout, with a floral hint and tones of coffee and wood. It pours a deep warm sable that is a little translucent at the very edges and has a thick, fine-bubbled, fairly persistent light tan head that "pillows" in the middle after a bit. Smoky flavor has woody, unsweet chocolate and fruity tones. Firm-bodied texture has a fair amount of fizz and leaves a burnt wood finish. Overall, not too shabby.

500 ml clear bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 7%. Black colour, large tan head. Roasty aroma with notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate and woodwork, also an initial hint of fruity acidity. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. The flavour is medium sweet with notes of dark malts, coffee, chocolate and molasses. Some fruitiness too, but the bitterness is quite moderate. Pretty good stuff.

Recently available in Canada, this was available in the dreaded clear bottle. It poured almost black with a good 1" brown head. Lots of bitter coffee in the aroma, but not much else to support it. Simple roasted malt taste that was quirte refreshing and easy to drink, but nothing complex.
