Sticke Alt is a special, rare version of a German-style altbier; bigger and bolder than usual. Three Knocks features a decidedly robust but balanced blend of clean, crisp and bready malts, with an assertive hop backbone. Oaky undertones are courtesy of the oakwood aging. Beau’s toasts this historical tradition with Three Knocks, a stronger, bolder and oak-aged version of our award-winning altbier recipe. Tasting Notes Three Knocks pours brilliant mahogany with a dense ecru foam. The aroma offers deep grainy malt notes complemented by a touch of herbal hops. The flavour notes feature deep chewy malt and intense but balanced hop bitterness. The long finish offers resonances of crisp malts and spicy hops with a touch of woody tannin.

Pours a clean deep amber colour with frothy-creamy warm beige head, good retention and some thick foamy lacing. Strong aromas of darker malts, bread, caramel with some grassiness. The taste has a bitter edge to it with all that hop, over the caramel malt base and other cereal notes. Hints of pepper. Not feeling much the oakwood, but adding maybe a little to the overall sweetness. A nice Altbier at the base, with lots of hops for the style, making this a good Sticke Alt.
