Roasted caramel malts give Country Vibes amber lagered ale its rich colour and toasty sweetness, balanced by clean, crisp hops and a cold-aged lager finish. This delicious and refreshing mash-up of lager + amber ale is so retro, it's cool again. Country Vibes shares Lug Tread's clean, crisp character of a lagered ale, while offering deeper toasty maltiness balanced with a more robust hop bitterness. This hybrid beer shares traits that can be found in German Altbier, California Common and American Amber Ale, while rebelliously not being defined by any one of those styles Country Vibes pours amber with cream-colour foam. The aroma is malty and toasty. The flavour is predominately malt-driven, featuring sweet grainy and toasty bread notes that are balanced by a clean, crisp hop bitterness. The finish is bright with a mild lingering malt sweetness.

The beer pours a translucent brown with a bubbly off-white head which lasts a minute or two and laces well. The aroma is nutty malt, caramel, some weak citrusy hops, and a little whiff of yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is balanced between the sweet caramel malt notes, and the light citrus notes. Finish isn’t overly bitter. A very nice Canadian altbier. -

Tall can from LCBO. Pours an average size frothy off-white head and has a coppery amber appearance. Moderate carbonation. Big thick dirty lacing. Aromas of earthy and resinous hops, some light toasty notes. Flavours are mostly mild roasted malt, barley, notes of wheat and grassy hops .

Can that pours a clean amber colour with an off-white head, leaving some dirty lacing. Aromas of dark malts like rye giving some spiciness with caramel notes and other grains. Cereal grain taste as well with less caramel sweetness, balanced with the hops giving enough dryness and bitterness. This does show the cereal darker grains of an altbier, and the Steam style, all in an easier drinking amber ale. All blended with the hops, this is pretty good.
