A real treat. This stout is rich and and full bodied made for a medium dry palate, not over sweet, not bitter just the perfect balance. The dense, lacy head is light brown with fine bubbles topping the nearly opaque black stout. The aroma presents rich roasted malts, fruit, and butterscotch. In the mouth this beer is smooth and silky with a mild hop bitterness balanced by a bitter sweet complex malt flavor. At the end the beer presents a roasted malt flavor with a fruity note being just slightly sweet. This recipe has been a long term award winner.
