When we set out to make this beer we wanted to showcase the more nuanced side of @thombargen’s Volcán Azul natural process coffee from Costa Rica. We brewed the coffee in a way to accentuate the fruity notes that are often masked by more roast or brewing technique. The result is something unlike anything we could have imagined. Coriander, fennel, and cardamom fade into coffee cherry and caramel imparted by the coffee, ending with the slightly tart, citrusy, and salty finish of a traditional gose. If you are looking for the roasty, warmth of most coffee beers, you won’t find it here. What you will find is a one of a kind experience for your palate that words can’t describe.
