    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Got a bottle of this from my buiddy Darren during the San Diego Real Ale Festival, as part of a mass trade of beers. This was intended to be the "mystery booby prize" offering, and I was more than a little dubious when a slightly drunk Englishman gave this to me. Well, all misgivings are now put aside, as this is a fairly tasty West Coast IPA.

Fairly nuetral aroma, which is a bit of hit in my book, when I think about IPA's. But the flavor profile takes up the slack. A rather complex malt body gives this a rather soft and comfortable feel. In addition, while this is hoppy, it doesn't go balls-to-the-wall with bitterness, which is a refreshing change of pace for even this die-hard hophead.

Probably nothing I would make a point to seek out, but certianly nothing that I would turn my nose up at, either. An interesting find, courtesy of Long Beach's favorite Englishman.... :)
