2012 me thinks. Like the stout, too expensive and too thin, though this one was a little more extreme. 12% abv comes through a little too much when the body isn't big. Still has the graham cracker barrel character, with some nice chocolate and vanilla notes, so it's tasty enough...but the beer can't stand up to the barrel.

Had in Bottle @ The Beer Kitchen in KC .. . Pours a dark rummy brown, light foam .. . oak, bourbon, wood, vanilla, burnt wood, and a touch more bourbon .. . A great brew! .. . that movie was mentally challenged...

One of the best offerings I've had from Arcadia, who is hit and miss with me. The barrel aging provides a noticeable amount of vanilla, wood and bourbon without taking away from a nice base beer. Two thumbs up from this guy.

A milk chocolate brown colored head tops a perfectly black body. The nose is rich vanilla and wood. There is also some cocoa and light hints of coffee. The body is unexpectedly highly carbonated. The taste is deep plum and dark chocolate. Then there is cocoa and coffee in the boozy finish. The bourbon comes through only in the aftertaste. This is a big one and a sipper. The big brew almost cancels out the barrel aging here. Better than many barrel aged beers.
