This representation of the classic Irish Dry Stout has a smooth roast flavor due to the use of specially roasted barley. The barley kernels are kilned at very high temperatures until they are dark brown to black in color. The Susquehanna River is named after the Susquehannock Indians who settled in our area. This shallow river is over one mile wide in the Harrisburg area and flows from southern New York through Pennsylvania to the Chesapeake Bay.

Chocolately, coffee flavors. Rich-lloking dark brew with a faint tan head. Not one of the better stouts that I've ever had and certainly lacking in complexity.

This is one of their better brews but not outstanding. It has good coffee taste with a little chocolate thrown in. Try one if you come.

Tasted a sample (8 of 8) with lunch at the Appalachian Brewing Company, Harrisburg, PA. Very thin tan head that dissipated in seconds. Deep, dark brown color and excellent chocolate coffee aroma. The taste doesn't match the smell, and the body is thinner than I'd hoped. The aroma is the best thing going for this brew.

Light tan head, what there was of a head. Very dark, strong roasted chocolate flavor.
