Characterized by a hoppy aroma but without a strong malty flavor. Smooth, slightly bitter palate and golden-amber in color. Hop-lovers will enjoy this ale.

Draught at the Anacapa Brewing Company brewpub, downtown Ventura, CA. Quoted to be 5.0%ABV, with 33 IBUs.
Followed up the not-too-horrible Riptide Red with this offering..., a rather uneven and so-so effort, IMHO.
When I was doing the brewpub's six-beer sampler set (6x4-oz samples), all of the beers seemed to have the same rather acrid/astrigent mouthfeel issues. Maybe their house yeast strain has turned ugly, or possiblly some mash temp issues? I don't know. But I do know that this was the second best beer of the bunch -- and, from what you can gather from my scores, that's not saying much, eh?
A by-the-book American Pale Ale, but not nearly clean enough in the malt bill or nose to really let those poor hops strut their stuff. And without something of an assertive hop prescence, what sort of American Pale Ale do you end up with? Not much of one, obviously.
Really lackluster, IMO. Finished it, out of respect to the Anacapa locals that I was talking to (and who bought me a pint of this), but nothing that I would want again...

Hoppy aroma, golden amber color, smooth and slightly bitter on the palete. Due to the hoppiness I would classify this beer as an average IPA.
