: 9,2 % Vol Bitterhed : 80+ IBU Ingr.

500 ml capped bottle, batch 151. Poured in a vase an unfiltered and hazy old reddish-copper coloured ASA with a generous two fingers fine, dense, creamy, beige and pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Great lacing. Many floating sediments. The aroma is intense malty, caramel, a powerful alcoholic feeling, syrupy ways, a smokey touch, fruity notes. The flavour is powerful malty, peat and smoke, ashes, fruity, riped plums, grapefruits, fruity and resinous hops, spicy, citrus peels and nutmeg. The mouthfeel is creamy, fulled, syrupy and heavy hoppy bitter. The texture is oily. This fulled bodied ASA has a lingering sweety/light sticky, alcoholic and hoppy bitter finish. What a tasty Strong Ale ! Although the alcoholic feeling is omnipresent, nose and palate are bewitching. A great and complex Batch !!

says barelywine right on the bottle, so I'm not sure why this is classed in the catch all strong ale catergory. It's almost a classic barleywine. Malty, fruity, caramel, toffee...got the ruby tinge down. Then there's the hops. A sh-- ton of simcoe. So much you can see them, though I'm willing to bet this had some age on it. interesting addition, adds complexity and some bitterness, citrus peel. Not sure if it'd have been better without the dry hopping or not, though. Good brew.

This was a strange beer but quite tasty. The beer pours out a murky copper-brown body with a medium sized creamy tan head. Sugary sweet aroma, but there more to it than sweetness. Dark fruits, jerky, caramel and wet leaves. Flavor has notes of caramel, anise, with a grapefruity-like finish. An incredible blend of sweet and bitter, with a long lingering finish. Great beer. -

Sampled on 10/20/2010. This barley wine pours a medium copper color from a 50cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is bready, malty and sweet. Touch of sediment. A medium bodied barleywine. The malts are caramel, bready and sweet. The hops are earthy and herbal. Decent carbonation. A touch of alcohol. Also a touch of oxidation, which is not a bad thing in a barleywine. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of alcohol.

Sweet maple and arrogant like hops in the Nose .. . Dark ruby red .. . nice head, very presentable.. . I love Manchester United! ... . Pretty nice stuff, a bit chaotic though.. from a big bitterness and a bulky sweetness.. . leaves quite a bit of heat in the throat, needs about a year, at least.. . fantastic lacing .. . Good stuff but is too disorderly to be great .. . On a day that could have bought dreams to fruition and records to be purely shattered for both, comes down to mixed emotions; from Everest to Mariana, the hopes were eliminated. I can only hold strong, take it as it comes, and surmise and absorb the direction and outcome and live to fight, ..FIGHT!, another day. Revenge, as some have said and how many many feel, is coming, and as a pure reflection on some feelings, it will be massive and hopefully swift. I hope that the soldiers in this fight stand strong and devoted to the cause, the cause of crushing all in Europe and becoming gods of all that step up. Cheers United!!

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with large foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of bitter hops is not as dominant as expected but still quite bitter. Taste is also dominated by some bitter US style hops with a bold malt backbone with notes of dry caramel. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with non hint of alcohol. Well done and somehting I would like to drink again.

A slightly vigorous pour produces an almost four-finger thick, light tan colored head in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a ruddy, red-amber color, but shows a lightly hazy, red-stained, honey color when held up to the light. Aromas of medicinal hops, green herbal hop character, hints of pine, some menthol, perhaps a hint of tobacco, and some sweet candied citrus zest aromas are the most noticeable part of the nose. In fact the hop character is really all that I can pull from this beer's nose, the malt is clearly here, but plays such a supporting role that it does not seem noticeable in and of itself.Chewy and somewhat sweet tasting, this beer is definitely meant for sipping. My first sip yields a finish reminiscent of cooked cabbage / broccoli that lightly intrudes. Ample caramel malt character contributes a richness to this brew that helps to carry the dominant hop character. Speaking of which, that cooked vegetal note seems to be some hop by-product rather than DMS. The hop character contributes a mix of more dominant flavors reminiscent of menthol, pine-needles, a light infusion of bergamot, and a pronounced herbal character. The finish has a nicely sharp, green, slight menthol, astringent bitterness to it as well as a warming alcohol note that at times can be ever-so-lightly hot. The malt, while definitely a supporting cast member, is a nice contributor here; flavors of toffee, deeply caramelized malt sugars, biscuit-like grain, fresh whole-grain bread crust provide a nice, albeit soft, counterbalance to the hop character. The sweeter malt notes accentuate soft citrus hop notes, but these notes are secondary to the more herbal hop components.
An interesting beer, but this must have been quite hoppy upon first release, as it is still quite hoppy now at one year of age. As the beer warms up a bit it becomes more integrated, a bit softer and loses some of the harsher hop notes, though these still play a prominent role. Even though I am a hop head, this is just a bit too hoppy; I think it might have something to do with the particular hop varieties used as they are a bit harsher than I typically prefer. Still this is a tasty brew that is easy to spend an evening with.

Bottled. Hazy orangeish amber colour with mediumsized creamy white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is very fruity and flowery hops along with some chocolate cookies as well as some mild roasted notes. Flavour is very much the same in a very nice and harmonic balance. Hides the alcohol very well.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. hazy reddish amber with a big white foam. Berries, flowers, caramel and spices in the aroma. Full-bodied with a fairly clean mouthfeel. Flavour of caramel, red berries, oranges, sweet licorice and grapefruit. Dryish and hoppy finish of grass, grapefruit and red berries.
