wow. what a letdown this was, not to mention a waste of money. this place has a good rep, and some super tasty (if very expensive) beers, especially the ipa variations. high hopes were dashed after the pour. smells pretty nice outta the bottle, but once pured, what at first is a subtle astringency in the aroma becomes overbearing by mid-glass. It's present in the flavor too (oxidation, infection, whatever...) and the feel. It's a shame too, cause there's good things going on. Wonderful chocolate, roast and bourbon. But by the time we finished, you just couldn't get past the issues.
