Brewed with coriander, bitter orange peel and malted wheat, Alaskan White Ale has a light and crisp body pleasant tartness followed by slightly spicy aftertaste. The malted wheat gives the beer a more full and lightly malty mouthfeel. There is an aroma and flavor of wheat and coriander, with a dry and refreshingly carbonated finish.

Strangely clear for a white. No foam head. Aroma is weak, wheat. Taste is little dissapointing, not like a Belgian White. Aftertaste is shortlasting. (Houston 201303)

Pours a cloudy/hazed golden orange color with a small white head forms at first, but recedes to nothing and leaves light lace. the aroma is peppery spice, coriander, husky wheat, Grassy and citrus aromas. The taste follows the aroma with lots of peppery spice, yeast, and coriander. Citrus, orange peal, and husky wheat. Everything works together and is very nice. The mouthfeel is a medium body with high carbonation. Crisp and dry.

Pours a hazy, gold color. White colored thin head ok retention and lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight floral, pale malt, spice, and lots of lemon, almost cleaner like. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, hints of spice, but the bitter citrus takes the spotlight. Overall a decent and refreshing brew.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a well carbonated white head but dissipates rapidly. Almost no aroma at all. Taste is different than a normal beer and watered down a tad. Overall it is a smooth beer but lacks in taste and aroma. So-so brew.

Pretty average offering from Alaskan. Weak aroma. Smells of oranges and lemon. Thin white head and clear amber color. In the mouth this beer lacks the most. Feels like im drinking water, or a coors light for that matter. Flavor is weak for what is supposed to be a spicy type beer. Overall its ok but not what I expect from a witbier.

Bottled (thanks Kalevi Kurronen!). Golden colour, small head. Aroma is coriander, some wheat as well as mild spices. Flavour is quite much the same. Rather pleasant and refreshing.

I dont know what the other reviewers saw it this beer. It might as well be a AB or Miller. Aroma, even with a hard pour it had very little to delight, a slight citris no hops maybe alittle grass. Head disabated quickly, with no lacing. Taste none. A total waste of money.

It pours a light copper with white-light orange head and decent lace. A faint aroma of caramel malts, citrus, and mild spice. The mouthfeel is smooth, rich, zesty, and full-bodied. Flavors of wheat malt, light hops, lime-citrus, and coriander and mild spices. Excellent brew.

A vigorous pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet glass produces a three finger thick, creamy textured, off-white colored head that leaves ample lace on the sides of my glass. The beer, when poured with the sediment shows a milky, pale amber hue that shows a lightly hazed, orange-gold color when held up to the light. The aroma smells of lemon zesty, lemon thyme and has an almost earthy, sort of grassy grain note to it in the finish. With the citrus, this beer comes off as smelling lightly tart; the wheat and yeast also likely contribute to this. The nose is pretty one dimensional as it is hard for me to really smell anything other than lemon (the coriander contributes to this as well).
Light bodied with a prickly effervescent carbonation up front. As the beer moves across my tongue it picks up a bit of silky texture; it almost seems like the wheat has added a certain viscousness to this beer, but that doesn’t keep this from being refreshing and quaffable. The beer has a light tartness to it that accentuates a lemon-like citrus note. A touch of earthy, but quite smooth, coriander flavor comes through, but this also accentuates the citrus with a coriander-derived lemon note. This has a clean grain character to it that has the grassy, earthy, fresh cracked wheat derived flavor to it.
If you really like Belgian Wits this should appeal to you. Having said that, this is actually pretty lackluster within the style. It is refreshing and quaffable and certainly hits the spot on a 110+ºF / 44+ºC day, but it is really lacking in depth and complexity (it is especially missing the fermentation / yeast derived character).
