The lack of any apparent hop character, weak malts and nothing going on in the aroma really kept this beer from being enjoyed. Light sweetness, refreshing on the palate, but still watery. Just pretty blah.

Pours a simple golden with thin white head and moderate lacing, bubbly. Fresh aroma of barley, hops, lime, grapes, and some orange. The mouthfeel is frothy, smooth, some zest, and full-bodied. Characteristic pilsner flavor of malts, hops, and bitterness. Excellent.

Excellent display of carbonation in the clear golden body, sharp white head, solid retention, great lacing, as darned nice as a pilsner can ever look. The aroma was toasted cereal grains and honey. The flavor was sweet cereal (a lucky charms note under it all, in a good way), a toastiness, fruity (odd for a pilsner, but quite nice, almost like a kolsch influence), honey, bready, and finishing with a nice hop shout from grassy, herbal, floral, and metallic hops. Mouthfeel was smooth, finishes dry and sweet (ie. not totally crisp, but good). Over half of the Aktien brews I've had have been clear winners, and these all from bottles... if only I get to drink these on draft one day in Deutschland.

Another Aktien bier -- another "oh-hum" effort, IMO.
Rather plain all-around. Between the decent but unremarkable appearence, functional-but-nothing-more aroma, clean and yet unfullfilling flavor profile, dry and astrigent mouthfeel, and strictly by-the-numbers drinkability, I feel like I've had this beer hundreds of times before.
Yeah, it does have some decent enough Saaz highlights here and there. But this really needs more gumption to really make me take notice, to be honest.
Quaffable enough, but really -- so are so many other beers out there. I'm looking for more than simply "easy-drinking", to be honest....

Light gold color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is malt (grass and grain) a touch of hop spiciness. Medium to light bodied Pilsner. Malts are sweet, bready and a little grassy. Hops are mild, slightly herbal and spicy. Somewhat sweet, yet the beer is balanced by a nice dry finish. Smooth tasting Pilsner. Nice balance throughout. A little surprised by the dry finish, but a nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

amazing! i used to sell this stuff by the van load in California, and have been to the brewery in Deutschland. Depending on how the bottles you get are kept, this is an amazingly good Pils for the US market, and will keep a long while, more on that in a few lines. The bottles are liters not pints. The color is straw gold and the flavor, well. I used to buy the expired cases of this brew for $10 US. I sold it for 20, and made my college driniking geld. By the time I got it, it had a protein haze, and was very much more a lager taste then the sharp krisp Pils it was when new. The smell was kind to wet socks, the flavor bread like, and you could drink it by the gallon. All the bier from Aktien is excellent, the Helles they brew is like liquid sunshine, just wonderful.

First time I had seen this German brewery in Oregon. Comes in the pint bottle, brown euro-style. Old fashioned style label. it pours quite livelly into my pint mug, nice enough honey golden colour with a goodly sized white head.Leaves quite a bit of lace. I liked the aroma of this one very malty yet the hops still show through well..its very fresh. For a pilsner the taste is much more pointed towards the malts than usual, and its good not overlly sweet, some nice hops in the back.Buttery , honeyish tasting beer.Quite remarkably smooth. Felt very nice on the palate Good drinkable malty lager..
