From the Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren comes this classic example of a typical Bavarian country style Beer. Not too hoppy, yet pleasantly tart and a lovely golden color makes this a lager style beer for any time of day. Well balanced & a beautiful head.

Classic old-world style label on a standard 500mL long-tall bottle (does *every* German brewery buy their bottles from one manufacturer?). Popped this open, and was rewarded with a wealth of enticing grainy maltiness. Poured this into a Gordon Biersch 0,5l glass, and lots of attractive suds and foaminess was produced. Nice lacing, too.
Nicely clean and attractive aroma -- reminds me of a very fresh sample of Samuel Smith's (highly under-rated) Pure Lager. Nice mouthfeel -- not too dry, not too sweet, no off-flavors. Nice flavor profile too. Good graininess to the whole affair, with enough bitterness to keep this from becoming indecent.
All in all, a highly drinkable Lager if ever there was one. That having been said, I would say this is well-worth investigating, when/if you happen to see it.

Light gold color, slightly greenish tint. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet. A light to medium bodied landbier. Malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of breadiness. Hops are crisp, slightly spicy and a touch floral. Nicely balanced. A little sweet and could have used a touch more carbonation, but still a nice tasting, light and crisp beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
