A Classic Scotch Strong Ale, also known as a 90 Shilling Ale or Wee Heavy. Walnut in color with gentle roasted grain and mild alcohol warmth balanced with a moderate sweetness and bitterness with very little hop aroma. Excellent for savoring after dinner with a cigar or as an apertif. Very popular in Belgium (the world's foremost consumers of Scotch Ale) as an accompaniment to dessert

A delight! The rich dark chocolaty color is inviting; head is on the thin side. Aroma is not strong but pleasant, decidedly malty with burnt coffee undertones. The exceptionally rich flavor has strong coffee tones with smoky and nutty elements and just a touch of bitterness. This very enjoyable brew is to be sipped and savored on its own, rather than chugged down or consumed with a meal.

This was an amazing beer. The malt was very chewy, and there was all sorts of stuff going on. Cola and peat. Caramel and more. It was delicious. Nicely dark. There wasn't anything better at Classic City Brew fest.

nice darkish purple infused color with a fastly vanishing soapy head. Very malty aroma full of carmel wood. Tasted much the same with some added maple tones to it. Pretty god damn solid.

reddish brown w/ a slightly malty nose & flavor. this is not a big scotch ale, but very tame.

Nice dark color with lacy head. Malty, slightly piney, and woody. Slightly syrupy and kind of hard to swallow, but other than that it was all good.

I’d like to thank Dennis for sharing a bottle of this stuff with me. Although not his finest work in my opinion (the best brewer I’ve tasted in Georgia), a well done Scotch Ale. Medium bodied, dark color with a medium sized head when poured from the swing top bottle. Light smokiness with a touch of peat and malt. I noticed a taste of wheat grass in this as well. Earthy, and light and way too drinkable at 7.5%.

A dark brown apperance with a moderate head. A very malty profile complete with some roasted nuts, molasses, and dark fruit. This is one addictive sipper. This beer is a little sticky and oddly thin. But its a good representation of the style and one that will certainly improve with aging. These guys certainly brew some interesting beers!
