Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 The second Rochefort beer I've tried and every bit as good as the 10. If I have one complaint is that the aroma wasn't as sweet as the 10, but almost identical to the 6 (tried a couple of hours later). But, I could drink any of these all day long (and all night) |

8 | North Coast Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout | United States | Imperial Stout | 4.8
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Loved this beer. Poured a beautiful ebony into the glass with shimmering edges and creamy head. Syrupy on the tongue. Lots of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted goodness in the aroma while the flavour is decently complex with bitter dark chocolate and coffee flavours rounded out by sweet molasses and liquorice. |

9 | Samuel Smith Imperial Stout | United Kingdom | Imperial Stout | 4.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 A very dark brown pour, opaque, and topped with a light brown creamy head. The head sticks to the glass as the beer goes down. Roasted malt, coffee, and licorice hit the nose hard with lighter hints of hops and vanilla. Taste is bitter coffee, maybe a touch of chocolate, and a bitter hop finish. Excellent for the style. |

10 | Samuel Smith Taddy Porter | United Kingdom | Porter | 4.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 10 The beer pours a solid black cover, and is topped by a foamy brown head. Lots of lacing on this one. Aroma is leather, coffee, and licorice. Thick and creamy on the tongue. The flavor is roasted malt and coffee with hints of licorice in the finish.. |

11 | St. Bernardus Abt 12 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 4.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I felt that there was too much alcohol in this beer. It's dark brown and the head is huge and fluffy, and thick. The aroma is wet bread, malty, and a little spicy. The beer moves nicely over the tongue. I was worried because as a dark beer it is very stout like, but this was magnificent. |

12 | Abbaye des Rocs Brune | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 This beer was a revelation for me...................it was amazing. My boyfriend and I shared a bottle of this dark brown brew. The aroma was yeasty with nuts and fruit tones. The mouthfeel was smooth, yet carbonated. The flavor has heaven. Liquid bread with jam on it. |

13 | Belle-Vue Sélection Lambic | Belgium | Gueuze | 4.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Lambics are a peculiar thing to me. I've heard how great good lambics are, but I always wonder why anybody would want a beer this funky. The bottle is dated 1999...which adds more to my worries. Cloudy golden orange in colour with funk eminating everywhere. Very tart on the tongue. But this is a standard bearer for the Lambic franchise. |

14 | Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 10 My husband and I like the Abbayes des Rocs brune so we thought we would give this a try. Not as dark as the brune but stiull a dark brown colour. There was a lot of cherries and plums in the aroma and taste that shined through. I recommend this beer to everybody! |

16 | Westvleteren Abt 12 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 This is BeerPal rating #100. This is an excellent beer and certainly lived up to it's hype. The price was a bit out of this world ($35) which put a damper on it but aside from that nothing to complain about. A dark golden brown pour, reddish hints, and a generous light tan head. Yeast, and sweet fruits filled the air. Flavour was nicely balanced between the sweet malt tones, the yeasty breadiness, and while the alcohol was noticed, it was noticed in a good way. Very smooth! |

17 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Stout Impériale Russe / McAuslan St. Ambroise Russian Imperial Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 2009, 2010, and 2011 vintages. most of the Canadian beers I have tried and have been rather 'blah', this was an exception. It also seems to get better with age as the 2009 vintage was scrumptious. A black pour into the McAusland tulip with a huge creamy brown head. Nuts, roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla filled the air. Full bodied and creamy. Lots of roasted flavour as well, balanced by vanilla and bourbon. Very well done. |

18 | Fuller's London Porter | United Kingdom | Porter | 4.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 10 The beer pours a thick black pour with a thin creamy dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, nuts, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor is similar with a sweet chocolate and bready malt start, and a bitter coffee finish. The best beer I've had in a long time. |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Finally had the opportunity to try the two Rocheforts that I had missed previously and I have to be honest, I didn't see a whole lot of difference between the three of them. Lots of bread and dark fruits mixed with yeast. They don't try to hard to deviate from the formula. Maybe the thinnest of the three, but still an excellent beer. |
